A Residential Building Record report is required by the Municipal Code for all residential properties sold or transferred within the City of Newport Beach. The report discloses to all parties to the transaction all permit and enforcement history found in the City records and includes an optionalfield inspection of the property to determine the physical condition and whether or not its condition corresponds with City records.

An RBR inspection covers zoning requirements and life safety issues such as, but not limited to, a comparison of site conditions with the permit history, water heater strapping, smoke detectors, garage access and construction, and safety of the electrical system. Permits are required for work which was not permitted at the time of construction or when corrections are required.

The Residential Building Record Report is good for one year from date of issuance. For more information, please call 644-3275.
