An Annual Outside Dining Encroachment Permit is required for outdoor dining in the public right-of-way.  There is an annual fee for the permit that is based on the maximum occupancy of the establishment. Outside Dining Encroachment Permits can be obtained from the Public Works Department.

You can visit Public Works at City Hall, located at 3300 Newport Boulevard, Building C, Monday through Fridays 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Please allow a minimum of seven days for review/approval of your application. The Public Works Department has the right to modify the time required for approval of the permit or to deny the permit if it does not meet the City’s requirements.
