The Newport Beach Public Library sends overdue notices to remind borrowers when they have overdue materials. Seven days after the due date, the first overdue reminder is sent by mail. Overdue fees are accumulated on a daily basis. The fines for overdue materials are: - $0.25 per day per item for most materials and $1.00 per day per item for videos, DVDs and iPods. Materials that are sixty days overdue will automatically convert to lost and the customer will be charged the price of the item plus a processing fee. Delinquent library accounts may be sent to a collection agency.
