City Arts Commission Presents Concerts in the Parks with Kevin Spirtas

Newport Beach, CA (July 13, 2009) – 2009 Concerts in the Parks will kick off this Sunday, July 19 with a high-energy Broadway-style concert featuring talented actor Kevin Spirtas in a special production called “Night and Days.” The concert will begin at 6 p.m. at Mariners Park, 1300 Irvine Avenue, Newport Beach.

Multi-talented Spirtas, who starred in television's Days of Our Lives, Jim Brickman's PBS Special Love Songs and Lullabies and Broadway's A Chorus Line, Hairspray and The Boy from Oz, presents a one-man song and dance performance that celebrates his journey from Broadway to Hollywood and includes a great collection of Broadway and pop standards.

Concerts in the Parks are sponsored by the Newport Beach City Arts Commission. The second Concert in the Park will feature the Susie Hansen Latin Band on Sunday, August 23 at Bonita Canyon Sports Park, Bonita Canyon Road and Mesa View Drive, Newport Beach.

Concerts in the Parks are free and open to the public.  Those planning to attend should bring lawn chairs and a picnic dinner to fully enjoy the entertainment under the stars.

For more information, call the Cultural Arts FAQ Hotline at 949-644-3211, extension 2156 for Concerts in the Parks.
