NEWPORT BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY PRESENTS

“FABULOUS FABLES AND FAIRY TALES” IN AN IMAGINATION CELEBRATION EVENT

Newport Beach, CA (May 6, 2009) – The Imagination Celebration comes to the Newport Beach Central Library on Sunday, May 17 from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Coordinated by the City of Newport Beach Cultural Arts Services, this annual event presents families with an afternoon of free interactive activities designed to inspire and encourage creative and artistic expression.

With the 2009 theme of “Spark Your Imagination,” Newport Beach Cultural Arts Services will present a day of music, art and storytelling exploring “Fabulous Fables and Fairy Tales.”  The program begins at 12:30 pm with music by the Pacific Symphony Brass Quartet followed by a musical instrument petting zoo.

At 1:30 p.m., storyteller Rebecca Martin of Dream Shapers will narrate fables and fairy tales. Children can draw their own firebird in the Bamboo Courtyard with recycled sparkly materials saved for little artists and have their faces painted too!  It's all free for children of all ages with their parents.

For more information on the “Imagination Celebration” at the Newport Beach Public Library, call 949-644-3211, ext. 2155.
