An electrical permit is required for all new electrical installations and for outlets, fixtures, and equipment added to existing systems. When applying for a permit, verification of your State Contractor's License, City Business License and Worker's Compensation Certificate, and owner/builder declaration may be required where applicable.
Electrical permits are not required for maintenance items such as replacement of existing switches and plugs, bulb replacement, circuit breaker replacement, and temporary cord and plug wiring such as Christmas decorations.
